How do I sign up for Nice Ride for All Membership?
Please visit niceridemn.com/nicerideforall or look for our ambassadors at local events in your community throughout Summer 2019.
How do I know if I’m eligible for a discounted membership?
There are two ways to be eligible, if you receive Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits or are an active participant in the Transit Assistance Program (TAP) and are 18 years of age or older, you are eligible for a $5 Nice Ride for All membership if you sign up before August 15th, 2019.
Note: Participants in the Minnesota Food Assistance Program (MFAP) who receive food-assistance benefits via EBT card, are also eligible for Nice Ride for All.
How will I be billed if I sign up for a membership?
When you sign up for Nice Ride for All, your credit or debit card will be billed $5 and charged immediately upon submitting your membership application through the signup page. If you incur any extra time fees (e.g., for keeping a bike out for longer than 60 minutes at a time) they will be billed to your credit or debit card of the 3rd day of each month.
All members must keep an active credit or debit card on file in case of electric upgrades or extra time fees. You can view your billing statements anytime – just log into your account and view Billing Statements.
How long is my membership good for?
Your membership is valid for 1 year after the date of purchase.
What if I sign up after August 15th?
If you sign up for Nice Ride for All after August 15th, 2019 your membership will cost $5 per month with no annual commitment.
If I am using my EBT card to sign up, will it be charged?

I am not a SNAP or TAP participant, but I participate in one of the other assistance programs. Would I be eligible for the discount?

What if more than one person in my household is eligible and wants to sign up?
Fill out this form with your name and email/phone number associated with your Nice Ride for All account and we can add this member to your account.
How do I renew my membership after the first year?
After the first year, your Nice Ride for All membership will transition into a $5 monthly membership with no annual commitment for SNAP and TAP participants
If you have auto-renew set up, your membership will automatically continue when you ride again, either by dipping your key at any dock or using the app to take out a bike. You will be charged the $5 monthly membership fee at that time.
If you have opted out of auto-renew, you can manually renew your membership for additional month by filling out this form.
Can I share my membership with a friend?
No, memberships cannot be shared with a friend. If we suspect account sharing, we may have to suspend your membership.
How long can I keep a bike out?
The first 60 minutes of each ride on a classic bike are included in your membership price. A ride begins when a classic green bike is unlocked and ends when the bike is securely returned to any Nice Ride station or when a dockless blue bike is unlocked and ends when the bike is securely returned to a Hub.
If you keep any bike out for longer than 60 minutes at a time, regardless of the type, you will be charged extra time fees: $2 for each additional 30 minutes. To avoid extra time fees, keep your rides to 60 minutes or less.
How many rides can I take per day?
You can take as many rides as you want during your entire membership! The first 60 minutes of each ride on a Nice Ride classic or dockless bike is included in your membership price.
How do I take a bike out?
To rent a classic green bike, insert your member key into the slot in the dock. When the light on the dock turns green, your bike is unlocked. Pull it out of the dock by lifting the bike by the seat to release it. Your ride starts as soon as you unlock a bike.
To rent a dockless blue bike, use the Nice Ride app to select the bike you would like to rent. Hit 'Unlock Dockless Bike' button on the bottom left and touch the top of your phone to the sticker above the wheel or by the handle bars.
How do I return a bike?
For classic green bike, you can return your bike to any station when you’re done with your ride – use the Nice Ride mobile app or online Station Map to find available docks. Insert your bike firmly into the dock (but don’t slam it!). Wait until the light on the dock turns green to make sure it's locked. To learn how to correctly dock a bike, please watch this short video.
For dockless blue bikes, park at a Nice Ride hub or U of M bike rack, and manually close the lock on the rear wheel. This ends your ride and keeps the bike safe.
What happens if I lose my key? (include info for riding with credit/debit card, as well as requesting new key from customer service)
Contact Nice Ride support as quickly as possible to deactivate your Nice Ride key and prevent fraudulent use, as well as to obtain a new key. You will be charged a replacement fee of $5.
If you just received your key, make sure it has been activated by logging in to your account at niceridemn.com using the username and password you chose when signing up. There are many possible reasons why your key may not work. Contact Nice Ride support and give them the number off the back of your key. If your key is broken, it can be replaced. Depending on the circumstances, a $5 fee may be charged to the credit card linked to your account.
In the meantime, you can ride using the credit card we have on file for your account:
Go to any Nice Ride kiosk and insert the credit card associated with your account (don't worry, you won't be charged)
Follow the steps on the kiosk to get a one-time-use ride code. Once you have your ride code, type it into the keypad on a dock with an available bike to unlock the bike
To ride again, request a new ride code.
Please note: It's ok to occasionally use your credit card instead of your key. However, if we see frequent switching between credit card and key, this alerts us to the possibility of suspicious activity on your account and we may have to suspend your account.
